Overview
The Alverno Court regeneration project involves retrofit and refurbishment works within an established residential estate which remained occupied throughout. The project, executed in five phases, includes extensive energy upgrade works to 28 existing County Council houses, including extensions to 12 units, along with the demolition and reconstruction of two single-story houses.
Key tasks involve asbestos removal from 30 units all built circa the 1980s, replacement of gutters, fascias, and downpipes on privately-owned houses, and extensive external works, including paths, driveways, boundary treatments, and localised repairs to roads and kerbs. The project also incorporates the creation of a new carpark, retention of public utilities, and preparation of decanting units for final use.
Effective collaboration, strong stakeholder engagement, phased sequencing, and coordination of access, egress, and security were central to delivering this complex regeneration project.
