An Garda Síochána Donegal
Category:Civic Buildings

Overview

This award winning project involved extensive refurbishment and alteration to the existing Donegal Town Garda Station, providing a modern fit for purpose facility. The works included construction of a two-storey over semi-basement contemporary extension to the rear of the existing station, with rooftop plant room, new boundary enclosures, secure storage, and all associated site works.

The project required the demolition of all internal walls and floors within the existing station building, a rear extension, a portion of the front & rear elevations, outbuildings & boundary walls, within a prominent location in Donegal Town. The external envelope of the existing Garda Station building was restored, and a new entrance with modified fenestration pattern constructed onto Quay St.
