Overview
MMP were engaged to provide feasibility cost estimates, value engineering and masterplanning for the Europe-China Trading Hub at Athlone Business Park, Creggan, Athlone, Ireland. The proposed development provided a global scale centre for international trade and commerce between China, Europe and the Eastern seaboard to the United States of America.
The project is circa 500,000 sq.m. to be carried out in four phases and €1.2 billion investment. The development included the following facilities and associated infrastructure works:
Exhibition Zone: Mega Halls 1 – 9; Independent Halls 1 – 9; China Exhibition Centre; Energy Management Centre
Northern Zone: Super 5 Star Hotel; Conference Centre; Entertainment Complex
Commercial Zone: Five Star Hotel; Retail Centre; Cultural & Arts Centre; Entertainment & Leisure; Residential Units
Residential Zone: 400 Apartments; Childcare Facilities; Sports Club; Community Care Centre; Schools; Retail Facilities
